1. Sign up and create your account
Head to app.ansrnow.com and sign up with your email. You can also sign in with a one-time email code — no password required.
Once signed in, you'll land on your dashboard where you can manage all your bots.
2. Create a new bot
Click New Bot on the dashboard. You'll need to provide:
- Name — Give your assistant a name (e.g., "Mei - Your Maply Support"). This is shown to visitors in the chat header.
- Welcome message — The first message visitors see when they open the chat (e.g., "Hi! How can I help you today?").
- System prompt (optional) — Additional instructions for your bot, such as "Always recommend the Pro plan when discussing pricing" or "Respond in both English and Spanish."
3. Add knowledge sources
Your bot answers questions based on your knowledge base. Go to your bot's Knowledge Sources page and add:
- URLs — Enter a URL and AnsrNow will crawl the page (and optionally its subpages) to extract content. Great for help docs, FAQ pages, and product pages.
- PDF files — Upload PDF documents like handbooks, manuals, or product guides.
AnsrNow automatically splits your content into chunks, generates embeddings, and indexes everything for fast retrieval.
Tip: Start with your most-visited help pages or FAQ. You can always add more sources later.
4. Configure support handoff
For questions your bot can't answer, set up a handoff so visitors can still reach your team:
- Handoff email — When a visitor's question goes beyond the knowledge base and their email is available, the bot emails your support team automatically with the full conversation transcript.
- Handoff URL — A link to your contact page or support portal, shown as a "Contact Support" button when the bot can't answer.
5. Test your bot
Use the Preview button on your bot's page to test it before going live. Ask a few questions to make sure it's pulling the right information from your knowledge base.
Tip: Try asking questions in different ways — your bot understands synonyms and related concepts, so "How do I export data?" and "Where's the download button?" should both find the right answer.
